My children’s book Mama Said was written out of a desire to create the kind of book I loved reading to my own small children. I always gravitated toward the works that were inspiring not just to children but also to the adults reading aloud to them. And I love children’s books that read like a manifestation. Mama Said was that for me and hopefully to anyone else who has read it as well. In writing the words and designing the artwork with my illustrator (who happens to be my niece), I had the privilege of sharing messages and inspiration to kids and adults alike.
A cool thing about that project was that it was inspired by an essay I had written to my mom on her 60th birthday entitled 60 Things I Learned From My Mom. I took a handful of those lessons, turned them into a children’s publication, and then I got to gift her with a printed copy of this children’s book for her 66th birthday! It served as a tangible way to say thank you to her for teaching me all of life’s most important lessons!
Mama Said can be purchased on Amazon. Or if you prefer signed copies, you can order them from me directly!
