Essentialism

Book page

“The faintest pencil is better than the strongest memory.” –  Greg McKeown

What beautiful words the Essentialism author penned. Words that penetrate my very soul. Having blogged for the past 10 years, he’s preaching to the choir here. I fully understand the beauty of recording life’s moments. Of getting them down on paper. And the pleasure of reflecting on them for years to come. This act has been one of my greatest joys. In these days of raising young people, writing has been therapeutic for me. It seems that everything is funnier in retrospect. Even the most frustrating moments are enjoyable when read after the mess is cleaned up, the sibling rivalry has deflated, and/or the screaming tantrum has ended. So, yes, I will put my trust in the dimmest of writing utensils over my ever-fading memory.
